About us

Eläinsuojelukeskus Tuulispää is a sanctuary and forever home for farm and production animals. The sanctuary, located in Somero in Southern Finland, was established in December 2012. The goal of Tuulispää is to help animals and give them a safe and meaningful life. There are approximately 100 residents at the sanctuary ranging from horses, cows, sheep and goats to pigs, chickens, roosters and arctic foxes. All the animals have one thing in common: before coming to Tuulispää they had no place to go or they were about to lose their lives.

In addition to protecting animals on a concrete level, Tuulispää’s goal is to share information about animal protection and animal rights.

Donate

Tuulispää is a non-profit and its existence and operation is dependent on donations. Because of this, every donation, no matter how small, is extremely important. With the help of the donations we are able to offer the current and future residents of Tuulispää a happy and safe life in a place where every animal is seen and loved as an individual. Visits

Tuulispää is the home of both animals and humans so visits are possible only by appointment or during specific open door events. We organise open doors for private persons during the summer. There is no entrance fee but attending requires a simple sign up process. The event dates will be posted on our website and social media pages. During the open door events, the sanctuary hosts a small vegan coffee shop and kiosk called Pikku Puhuri which serves animal-friendly treats and baked goods.

In addition to events, we organise visits for groups such as school students and associations when resources allow.
